OFF BEAT Jazz festival

In supporting the OFF BEAT JAZZFESTIVAL, Banque CIC (Suisse) is committing itself to a very special sort of project, for jazz - with its emphasis on rhythms, larger-than-life characters and unique atmosphere - embodies Banque CIC (Suisse)'s own thinking about connoisseurship like almost no other style of music.

After years of preparatory work, the organisers have succeeded in making sophisticated and high-quality jazz a regular presence on Basel's stages, thereby adding an exciting new aspect to the region's musical landscape.

The festival is ambitiously conceived, not only including performances by celebrated international acts but also offering a platform where talented young performers and those known only to insiders - if at all - can give a knowledgeable public a taste of their sound.  The range of music on offer is no less broad, ranging from familiar melodies to a whole universe of experimental sound, from grooving piano virtuosos to line-ups consisting exclusively of percussion - a treasure trove for jazz lovers and true connoisseurs.
