As part of our charitable commitment, we support the Swiss National Association of and for the Blind (SNAB). It is committed to improving the quality of life of deaf-blind, hearing-impaired, blind and visually impaired people.

Around 320 000 people with visual impairments live in Switzerland. Most of them are over 65 years old and many of them think that poor vision is normal in old age and just accept it. This is wrong: Even if from a medical point of view there are no longer any possibilities to improve vision, adapted aids can improve vision and thus the quality of life in many cases.

The second most important tool – the speaking watch

When asked what their second most important tool is after their white guiding canes, blind and visually impaired people gave the speaking watch as their answer. Knowing what time it is is a crucial need – no, a right – if you have impeded spatial orientation. Working with us and its other partners, the SNAB has developed a talking watch for blind and visually impaired people. The product is called “ACUSTICA”, an analogue quartz watch which, with its classically elegant design, is not only visually stunning, but is also extremely functional.
