Do you have any questions about opening an account online or are you having difficulties? Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions. If the answer to your question is not among them, please do not hesitate to ask us in person.
Opening an account with Bank CIC online is easy – you can do it all in just a few steps at cic.ch/welcome.
Select which account in CHF you want to open, then:
Step 1: Enter your personal details
Step 2: Register
Step 3: Scan your ID and compare it with a live photo
Step 4: Confirm your documents
Step 5: Make your first deposit and you are all set

We are working on making it possible to open other accounts online in the future.
It normally takes less than ten minutes to open an account online. You need to make an initial payment into the new account before you can activate it.
- Of legal age
- Resident in Switzerland
- Swiss, German, French or Italian national
- In possession of a valid identity document (passport or identity card)
- Smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer with a camera and internet access to compare your ID with a live photo
You will receive a confirmation with your IBAN and access data for CIC eLounge.
To finish opening your account with Bank CIC, you need to pay at least CHF 1.00 into it from a Swiss account in your name. Your client relationship will be activated automatically as soon as the payment arrives.
You will then be able to open other accounts, make payments and conduct other banking transactions in CIC eLounge.
Your identity will be verified during the online account-opening process on the basis of an official identity document (passport or identity card). This must be valid at the time of identification.
Once you have finished opening your account, you can open additional accounts directly in CIC eLounge.
To finish opening your account with Bank CIC, you need to pay at least CHF 1.00 into it from a Swiss account in your name.
Only individuals are able to open an account online at the moment.
